Active Daters Explore Needs with Self-Discovery Feature

Identifying and Solving Potential User Engagement Issue.

Company: Fireside Technologies, Inc.  Duration: 3.5 months

Fireside was designed to foster intentional, introspective conversations that help people connect on a deeper level.

However, our initial product required both users to complete onboarding before engaging, often leaving individuals waiting for their match to join.

Through secondary research and strategic assumptions,

we identified a key challenge: our target users struggled to sustain relationships, in part due to a lack of intuitive tools for reflecting on their relationship goals, needs, and expectations.

As the Product Designer, I led the initiative to create a solution that would empower users to explore their own wants and desires while waiting for their partner to join.

The result was a seamless, research-backed, psychology-driven experience that allowed both single and partnered users to engage with Fireside immediately.

By integrating introspective prompts and personalized relationship insights, we helped individuals gain clarity in their dating journey—increasing engagement and fostering deeper connections.

People who are actively dating don’t have an intuitive, accessible way to explore their own relationship goals, expectations, and needs on a deeper-level.
